About the Role:
A position has opened for an Electrical Team Member to join our Engineering department.
We seek an individual who can provide first-rate technical support to our manufacturing teams as part of a small, multi-skilled engineering group.
In this role, you will report to the shift engineer and be responsible for:
- Assisting the engineering team with both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks
- Upholding Health, Safety & Environmental standards and ensuring compliance with safe working practices
- Delivering first-line technical expertise to identify and resolve faults, minimizing equipment downtime
- Proposing and implementing enhancements to process control systems through collaborative efforts with colleagues
- Maintaining a high standard of work quality, ensuring that any identified issues are promptly addressed and robustly resolved to prevent recurrence
This role will follow a shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights, consisting of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off.
What You Will Need:
We are interested in candidates who approach their work with a problem-solving mindset. You should have completed an electrical apprenticeship or hold a recognized electrical maintenance qualification (such as NVQ or equivalent). Ideally, you will have experience in heavy engineering manufacturing and possess strong interpersonal skills.
We are particularly keen to speak with individuals who have experience in:
- Industrial and domestic wiring
- Overhead cranes and associated safety systems
- PLC systems, primarily Siemens and Allen Bradley, including HMI interfaces
- AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems of various configurations
- Variable speed motor control using inverters and converters, including speed feedback devices
- Interpreting electrical schematics
- Understanding safety-related control systems
