Van Driver Job Description

What We Offer:
  • 20-25 hours of work per week
  • A pay rate of $19/hour, increasing to $23/hour effective August 26, 2024
  • Split shifts, including 5:30am-9:00am and 1:00pm-5:00pm
  • No commute, as the van goes home with you (if you have secure parking)
  • A 401(k) plan option, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance
  • Paid classroom and on-the-job training
Requirements:
  • Age 21+ and a valid driver's license for 3+ consecutive years
  • A satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check, CORI, and SORI
  • Effective communication in English (spoken and written)
  • A school pupil transport license (7D certificate), which is easy to obtain and we will assist you in getting it
Job Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle, adhering to all state and federal traffic laws, while transporting school-aged children
  • Safely operate various vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full-size passenger vans, and wheelchair vans
  • Safely assist students as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using vehicle lap and shoulder belts, and securing them in car seats and booster seats
  • Communicate effectively and clearly in English with students, parents, teachers, and staff
  • Utilize a two-way radio system for effective communication
