Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Psychological Practitioner to join our dedicated team within the adult community psychological services. This role is integral to our multidisciplinary approach, focusing on delivering high-quality psychological care to individuals facing complex mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with professionals from various disciplines. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialized psychological assessments and interventions tailored to individuals with severe and complex presentations.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, particularly in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for personality disorders.
  • Contributing to the development and management of therapeutic programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our service users.
  • Engaging in multidisciplinary treatment planning, fostering respectful and collegial relationships with team members.
  • Conducting consultations and formulating clinical strategies to address high-risk situations.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and clinical psychometrics.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate training in evidence-based psychological treatments, particularly DBT, or a willingness to pursue such training.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in the assessment and treatment of complex mental health issues across various care settings.
  • Familiarity with neuropsychological assessment techniques.
  • Proficiency in utilizing psychometric tools for evaluation.
  • Experience in providing training and supervision within a team context.
