Project Engineer - Governance

Salary:
£54,793-£60,326 (dependent on skills and experience)

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance components of the engineering operational framework and governance structure, including policies and procedures for the design and development phases of the program.
- Establish an internal assurance framework.
- Collaborate with the Airworthiness Team to facilitate design organization approvals and the appointment of technical roles.
- Serve as a primary contact for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator.
- Work closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to exchange best practices and provide activity support.
- Lead and manage a small team of engineers.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
- Degree in a STEM field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in Engineering Governance within Defence programs.
- Expertise in developing and implementing engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to create innovative solutions while adhering to governance standards.
- Prior experience in managing a small team, including task management, performance evaluations, and talent development.

Desirable:
- Familiarity with engineering governance principles, ideally acquired from at least two distinct areas.
- Experience collaborating with external customers (e.g., UK MOD).

About the FCAS Team:
- This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Engineering Governance to contribute to the Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme.

- Within the program integration team, you will support UK industry and international partners in the creation, development, and implementation of components of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System.


- The ideal candidate will be proactive and collaborative, possessing effective communication skills to influence and clarify Engineering Governance issues to both specialists and non-specialists.

This position offers a unique chance to engage with a pioneering program at its inception, representing BAE Systems and UK Industry on a global platform, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth of the Nation's Industrial Air Sector.
