About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Manager to join our team at ProTalent. As a VAT Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing our VAT advisory services, providing expert guidance to clients, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage VAT advisory services, including conducting in-depth reviews of clients' business tax systems and advising on beneficial VAT structures.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on VAT compliance, risk management, and strategy.
  • Develop and implement VAT projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business-driven approach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and staff, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of consultancy work and projects, cross-selling to other departments and assisting colleagues with general VAT advice.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of professional experience in providing VAT advisory services.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years UK practice experience, preferably within a tax team.
  • Strong client relationship skills, project management, and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgement of risk and be commercially minded.
  • Hold ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CTA qualification.
  • Experience and willingness to network and develop new business leads.
  • Extensive experience in cooperating with HMRC.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • A positive, confident, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high-quality output.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
