Job Title: Children Law Paralegal
About the Role:
Gemini Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children Law Paralegal to join our team. As a leading recruitment agency specialising in legal recruitment, we provide a highly focused service to our clients in the legal market across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Department Director and work closely with the Family & Children department to provide confidential advice and effective representation to clients.
- Assist with casework, including dealing with a range of Children / Child Care matters, and undertake your own advocacy.
- Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases, ensuring a high degree of continuity and professionalism.
- Deal with correspondence, prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency, and prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence.
- Attend conferences and court, maintaining accurate time costing procedures and implementing recommendations made by your supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with file management and maintain a strong academic background with a Law degree.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate passion and legal experience in a broad range of Family & Children Law.
- A strong academic background with a Law degree and clear understanding and application of Children Law.
- Business acumen and the ability to market the Company, with excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people.
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to use your own initiative but know when to seek guidance.
- Excellent IT Skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
