About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buyer to join our Sainsbury's Buying Teams in Scotland. As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that we get the best products at the best prices to deliver quality and value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute customer-focused category plans aligned with the company's strategy to sustainably grow market share and cash profit.
  • Review product ranges, identify opportunities for product improvement, new product development, and cost savings, and make key decisions in buying and selling strategies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, optimise the supply base, and lead cross-functional projects to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive product improvement, develop new offerings, and identify cost savings.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of Scottish shoppers and trends.
  • Self-starting and comfortable working remotely from the rest of the team.
  • A good appreciation of the Scottish supply base.
  • Reside in Scotland or be willing to relocate.
  • Able to travel to London occasionally when required.
