Role Overview

This role provides the successful candidate with the chance to conduct high-quality electrical inspections and testing for Leicestershire County Council. You will be tasked with maintaining comprehensive documentation and records to ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by regulatory bodies.

You may also oversee staff or colleagues within your team and may be responsible for providing cost estimates for intricate projects.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be organized and enthusiastic, demonstrating drive, determination, and a strong commitment to exceptional customer service. You will need to possess problem-solving skills, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. Within this role, you will:

  • Comprehend and implement the principles, practices, and regulations for testing and certification as directed by the Electrical Team Leader.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation regarding testing and inspection.
  • Conduct all inspection and testing operations safely, adhering to the Health & Safety Policy.
  • Maintain test equipment, documentation, and records for inspection purposes.
  • Promptly inform management of any non-conformance issues.
  • Execute both planned and reactive tasks as directed by the electrical team leader.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to address any matters related to inspection, testing, and certification.
  • Understand the procedures for inspection, testing verification, certification, and reporting for the range of electrical work performed.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure equipment is fit for purpose and address any reported defects.
  • Manage the manual handling of construction materials in accordance with training and regulations.
  • Organize work schedules based on assigned work orders.

Candidate Profile

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering with substantial relevant experience.
  • Recognized as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
  • Familiarity with the inspection, testing, verification, and certification of electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proficient understanding of certification software.
