We are pleased to present an opportunity for an Electrically Skilled Facilities Engineer to become a vital part of our team, focusing on significant contracts in the region.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. You should possess City & Guilds qualifications as an Electrician, alongside some plumbing and general maintenance skills, preferably with prior experience in a similar setting.

Client interaction is a key aspect of this position, requiring a commitment to delivering optimal solutions tailored to client needs. A professional appearance is essential, and proficiency in both spoken and written English is expected.

Flexibility in working hours, including early starts and late finishes, may be necessary to facilitate essential works with minimal disruption to clients. Proactive thinking is crucial for arranging materials, providing quotations, and managing client expectations effectively.

Familiarity with a Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system is advantageous, as all tasks are coordinated through a CAFM platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, inspecting, and executing repairs or preventive maintenance as needed, responding promptly to breakdowns.
  • Performing electrical installations and servicing electrical components across various environments, including offices and industrial sites.
  • Conducting statutory inspections of assets, such as Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspections, and minor reactive works.
  • Acting as a representative for the client, addressing complaints and inquiries professionally.
  • Supervising subcontracted engineers during site visits.
  • Offering technical support to clients and assisting with contract-related tasks.
  • Executing minor building fabric repairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications and Health & Safety regulations in all work performed.
  • Maintaining accurate site documentation.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • City & Guilds Qualified.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • NVQ Level 2 or a relevant higher qualification in a building discipline.
  • Legionella control certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a similar role, performing basic plumbing, carpentry, and statutory inspections, with a solid understanding of Health & Safety practices.
  • Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and method statements, along with issuing permits for hard service tasks.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Understanding of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 is desirable.
  • Ability to accurately document work on worksheets and digital systems.
  • A valid UK driving license is required, as the use of a company vehicle may be necessary.
