We are in search of highly driven and innovative nuclear engineers with a minimum of 5 years' experience to become part of our collaborative team.
The successful candidates will contribute to the execution of technical engineering, safety assessments, and project oversight for several significant initiatives within the nuclear power generation industry.
Such initiatives encompass substantial plant modifications, system engineering, safety assessment documentation for Small Modular Reactor Generic Design Assessments, extensive safety assessments managed by the Design Authority, commissioning activities, and safety assessment production.
This position offers a chance to engage in a vibrant, dynamic, and rapidly expanding nuclear team.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the execution of major safety assessments.
- Facilitating hazard identification and option evaluation workshops.
- Producing formal technical documentation, safety assessments, and other project deliverables within established timelines and budgets.
Implementation of Modifications:
- Conducting assessments of plant obsolescence.
- Authoring testing and commissioning strategies along with functional test procedures.
Support for Plant Operability:
- Monitoring conditions and identifying plant faults.
- Assisting in equipment reliability evaluations, including site inspections.
- Managing projects, project teams, and liaising with clients.
You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior engineers and fostering the technical growth of our expanding nuclear team, while also having the opportunity to contribute to broader company initiatives, such as industry networking, developing training programs, and creating techniques and toolkits for enhanced efficiency.
This role also provides the potential to engage with other sectors within Risktec, such as oil and gas, clean energy, transport, defense, and conventional power in the future.
Qualifications:
- A proven history of maintaining engineering systems, commissioning new facilities, and/or delivering nuclear safety assessments.
- Willingness to travel as required within the UK.
