Lead Consultant – Sustainable Energy Solutions
3 months ago
Ramboll is recognized as a leading consultancy in the UK, employing 1,300 professionals across 17 locations who are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in various sectors including Buildings, Transport, Environment and Health, and Energy. We are committed to fostering the growth and success of our team members, providing opportunities to engage in challenging and inspiring projects within a supportive and open environment, as highlighted in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work.
Your Role
As the new Lead Consultant for Sustainable Energy Solutions, you will engage with a diverse portfolio of projects and clients, delivering comprehensive energy strategies and master plans, policy advisory services, and market research. Our focus is on low carbon district heating and cooling, where we hold a market-leading position. We welcome discussions with individuals considering a return to consultancy after a career break and are open to full-time, part-time, and job-sharing arrangements. You will be part of a rapidly expanding team, influencing growth strategies and enjoying excellent career development prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage projects and proposals, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Conduct Analysis: Develop clear analytical frameworks to tackle complex challenges.
- Prepare Reports & Outputs: Draft reports and presentations, while reviewing colleagues' outputs.
- Support business development for the Sustainable Energy Solutions service line; cultivate client relationships with both public and private sector entities and identify future work opportunities.
- Foster collaboration among Energy Solutions team members, contributing to a positive and creative work atmosphere.
Your Team
You will join a dynamic and expanding team, leading the technical and engineering aspects of projects that typically involve area-based solutions. With the climate crisis at the forefront, our mission is to provide enduring low carbon energy solutions. We adopt a holistic energy system approach that evaluates the interplay and efficiency benefits of a multi-vector design. Projects generally encompass pre-design strategies, concept designs, master plans, feasibility studies, and technical contributions to business case development. We frequently analyze multiple scenarios to recommend decarbonization pathways and prioritize implementation strategies.
In addressing the extensive impacts of the climate crisis, we often collaborate with UK colleagues across various business units to deliver comprehensive sustainable solutions. Our international partnerships enable us to leverage best practices and global expertise, particularly in local energy systems.
About You
From your first day at Ramboll, we will prioritize your personal and professional growth, ensuring you can advance within the company. For this role, we seek candidates with the following qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write reports for diverse audiences and deliver engaging presentations.
- A degree in any field is acceptable, though a deep understanding of low carbon energy is essential, potentially gained through further education or relevant experience.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including facilitating workshops, conducting interviews, and developing surveys is advantageous.
- Familiarity with producing and/or advising on low carbon energy strategy, policy, and planning is desirable.
- Experience in working with and interpreting spatial energy data analysis to inform decision-making is beneficial.
What We Offer
- Hybrid & Flexible Working Arrangements
- 27 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays
- Private Medical Insurance
- A comprehensive list of flexible benefits, including discounted subscriptions, cycle-to-work schemes, gym memberships, and more.
