As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership on sustainable farming projects within your region. You will work closely with external parties, including customers, suppliers, and farmers, to execute and deliver our Scope 3 roadmaps. Your role will also involve providing regular insights and data reporting to internal and external stakeholders within your region, in line with our Group Scope 3 strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager in driving all sustainable barley Scope 3 roadmaps for your region to reach our FLAG commitment at Group level.
- Monitor the regional Agri programs, including certification on CO2 and SAI or equivalent.
- Assist the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager in achieving the results needed to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees through our farmer programs, subject to our business needs in your region.
- Identify the right 3rd parties for data gathering, data validation, certificate generation, and other tasks in line with the needs of your region and program.
- Support the reporting on barley footprint and SAI certified through Power BI (or equivalent) and potentially other tools in the future.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest sustainable farming practices, Government guidelines, funding opportunities, trends, and requirements within your region.
- Provide guidance to customers on sustainable farming programs, practices in sustainability and quality, and organize best practice sharing events with suppliers, third parties, and customers.
- Drive and visualize Boortmalt's Regional roadmaps and the performance of our suppliers (coops, traders, dealers) and farmers.
- Contribute to the department's efforts to identify and develop opportunities for improving the carbon footprint of our barley supply chain, biodiversity, and SAI concepts.
- Masters Degree in Biology, Agronomy, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience and affinity with handling data, demonstrated passion for sustainable farming.
- Proven track record in a regional function, working with international teams in a matrix environment.
- Good analytical skills, with proven experience in running basic statistical analysis on farmer data (CFT).
- Good understanding of the sustainable farming environment, SAI, SBTi FLAG, Label Bas Carbone, and other relevant concepts.
- Strong influencing skills to get data and information in on time and drive change.
- Thorough knowledge of environmental footprint approaches and methodologies, including GHG protocol and IPCC.
- Good relationship skills and trust-building in a complex environment.
- Strong communications skills, from farmer to brewer.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to think analytically and problem-solve across multiple regions and years.
- Information-seeking capabilities to fill data gaps, identify critical information needs, and develop workaround solutions as needed.
- Interest in working for a company committed to improving its global sustainability culture and environment.
- Fluent in English and French, with any other language optional.
- High familiarity with O365 tools and data gathering/reporting tools.
