About the Role:

We are looking for a talented Java developer with a strong background in electronic trading and a passion for Java development. As a Java Strategist, you will work closely with our engineers, quants, and traders to deliver high-quality systems that can be iterated on rapidly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of an immediate book of work: You will work closely with our business stakeholders to deliver a high-priority project that has already been identified within our Global Markets business.
  • Contribute to the development of our eTrading platform: You will collaborate with our engineers and quants to build out our eTrading platform, implementing new business functions and non-functional platform improvements.
  • Develop functional and non-functional requirements: You will work closely with our engineers, quants, and traders to develop functional and non-functional requirements for our trading applications.
  • Participate in code reviews: You will actively participate in code reviews as both an author and a reviewer, ensuring that our codebase is of the highest quality.
  • Improve team software development processes: You will contribute to the improvement of our team's software development processes, ensuring that we are always delivering high-quality software.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Java skills: You will have a strong background in Java development, with a deep understanding of Java programming principles and best practices.
  • Experience with electronic trading: You will have a strong understanding of electronic trading systems, preferably in an algo trading context.
  • Knowledge of cash and derivative products: You will have a good understanding of cash and derivative products across Rates and Foreign exchange (FX).
  • Experience with modern software development practices: You will have experience with modern software development practices, including continuous delivery and DevOps.
  • Strong communication skills: You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions.
