Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Project Manager to join our team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Commercial Services department, you will play a crucial role in managing contracted supplier relationships and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the project lifecycle from concept phase to closeout, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Develop and implement contract strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support procurement activities and ensure effective contract management.
  • Assure scope, contracts, and pricing to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead negotiations with contractors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Oversee payment processing and ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in business processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Proven experience in managing key aspects of contracts, including contract administration and negotiation.
  • A deep understanding of commercial contract management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • The ability to interpret and communicate complex data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Able to engage with people at all levels, from senior management to operational teams.
  • A strong commitment to ethical values and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage workload effectively.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements to deliver business outcomes.
  • Proficiency in corporate software systems, including contract management and project management tools.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices, including the NEC suite of contracts.
