The Role: SEN Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized support to SEN students, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and can fully participate in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), tracking progress and celebrating achievements.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
  • Assist in adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the specific needs of individual students, promoting their understanding and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents, highlighting areas of strength and identifying areas for further development.
  • Support students in developing essential social skills, independence, and confidence, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.
  • Work effectively with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support is provided to students and their families.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in providing SEN support within an educational setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of diverse learning needs.
  • Relevant educational qualifications related to SEN support, showcasing your commitment to professional development and best practices.
  • A strong understanding of current SEN legislation and policies, ensuring compliance and promoting inclusive practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and external partners.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN, fostering their growth and empowering them to reach their full potential.
