POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is accountable to the Principal Technical Architect and collaborates closely with the Engineering team, engaging with key stakeholders in Sales, Business, and Projects, while directly interfacing with Suppliers and Clients. Operating in a dynamic environment, particularly around live broadcast services, precision and meticulousness are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities will encompass:
- Enhancing and broadening current solutions to meet emerging business needs.
- Collaborating with the business to gather requirements and provide preliminary costs and designs to propel commercial ventures.
- Iteratively developing designs and working in partnership to implement new services, facilitating the growth of our linear broadcast streams.
- This may involve launching a new client or channel on an existing platform, executing a technology change or supplier system within a platform, or replacing a legacy multi-client platform.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Criteria:
- Solid experience in broadcast engineering or technical operations within a commercial setting.
- Proven track record in leading the requirements gathering, design, and implementation of technical systems and services.
- Experience in modifying or delivering solutions across various suppliers.
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud, Edge Playout, and IP-based linear distribution.
- Background in linear playout, encoding, and distribution, ideally with tier 1 and live channels.
- Proficient in gathering client requirements and articulating complex technical systems.
- Capability to structure and plan changes and broader projects with both internal and external teams.
- Experience in leading the transition of projects into Business As Usual (BAU) operations and support.
- Understanding of IP networking and InfoSec fundamentals pertinent to broadcast environments.
- Ability to document and illustrate technical solutions, diagrams, and test scripts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Codecs, DAI, SCTE104/35, and ad-insertion techniques.
- Familiarity with Subtitle and Audio Languaging processes.
- Understanding of broadcast file formats and file delivery systems.
