Department Overview:
The Pre-Construction division at Construction Resources oversees a diverse range of clients across both public and private sectors.

This team is dedicated to meticulously evaluating, estimating, and executing design services for upcoming projects in these sectors, ensuring a seamless transition to our Operations team for effective project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Cost Analyst, your primary duty will be to assess and estimate the financial implications of electrical construction initiatives.

Your role will involve scrutinizing project specifications, technical drawings, and other pertinent documents to ascertain the necessary materials, labor, and equipment for successful project execution.

You will work in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and various stakeholders to formulate precise and competitive cost estimates.

Specific tasks include:

  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and technical drawings to grasp the project scope.
  • Interpreting electrical design documents, including schematics and blueprints.
  • Calculating material costs, labor expenses, and overhead to establish the total project cost.
  • Preparing detailed and competitive bids for electrical construction projects.
  • Coordinating with procurement teams to secure accurate pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
  • Engaging with project managers, engineers, and team members to collect essential information for estimating.
  • Maintaining effective communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure precise pricing.
  • Identifying and evaluating potential risks and uncertainties related to the project.
  • Formulating contingency plans and alternative cost scenarios to mitigate potential risks.
  • Building relationships: To excel in this position, the Electrical Cost Analyst must:
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients, ensuring adherence to performance standards and contractual KPIs and SLAs.

Candidate Profile:
To thrive in this role, the Electrical Cost Analyst should possess:

  • Strong planning, organizational, and monitoring skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • A commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in work approach.
  • Legal authorization to work in the UK.
A background in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is essential.

  • Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Cost Analyst within the construction sector.
  • Expertise in estimating software and tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
