Position Overview

The Business Operations and Internal Control Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of operational processes within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute internal control framework tasks, including updates to delegation of authority and management of access rights to IT systems.
  • Oversee approval workflows in relevant systems and maintain organizational charts and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Support marketing teams with travel arrangements, expense claims, and onboarding processes while ensuring robust controls are in place.
  • Maintain precise records pertinent to trade finance operations, including data collation and extraction from banking systems, and provide insightful summaries and trend analyses.
  • Deliver timely guidance to marketing teams by upholding a comprehensive understanding of existing policies and collaborating with other departments as necessary.
  • Contribute to initiatives and projects by supplying relevant data from diverse sources.
  • Investigate discrepancies or inefficiencies impacting the business, articulating issues clearly and proposing viable solutions with effective follow-up.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience in financial services, particularly in an accounting-related capacity, with a strong preference for knowledge of trade finance products.
  • Strong numerical, accounting, and financial skills, capable of managing and controlling financial information across various business lines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP functions, and data visualization.
  • Knowledge of Japanese is advantageous but not mandatory.

In this role, attention to detail, proactive control measures, and clear documentation are essential to ensure data accuracy and clarity in analysis and reporting.
