Salary: Grade 4 - Starting at £24,921, with annual increments up to a maximum of £27,351 per annum. Please note that this salary is based on a full-time commitment of 37 hours per week. If you are appointed on a part-time basis, your salary will be adjusted accordingly.

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Arrangement: Static-Worker - This role requires presence at specific police premises, limiting remote work opportunities due to the nature of the tasks involved.

Weekly Hours: This position entails 37 hours per week. We also encourage applications from those interested in part-time roles and are open to flexible working arrangements based on operational needs.

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about assisting your community in engaging with law enforcement? Do you wish to aid victims and facilitate the reporting of crimes? If so, consider applying for the position of Community Safety Officer with Dorset Police.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary contact for reported incidents and crimes through various channels,
  • Providing initial responses to a diverse range of inquiries from the public and partner organizations, including offering guidance on legal matters, police duties, and complaints, as well as directing individuals to relevant agencies,
  • Accurately receiving and documenting information,
  • Offering supportive and reassuring assistance to witnesses, victims, and the public, escalating issues to other police resources when necessary.

The Community Safety Office operates from Monday to Saturday.

Initial Training Requirements:
