About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at a local SEMH school in Eastleigh.

The successful candidate will provide specialised support to students with complex needs related to Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour, ensuring their individual EHCPs are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging curriculum that addresses the specific challenges associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour across various subjects.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment to promote social, emotional, and mental well-being, with a focus on addressing anxiety and behaviour challenges.
  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, including those with ADHD and Autism.

About the School

The SEMH school setting is specifically designed to address the unique needs of students with complex challenges related to Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.

The school focuses on creating a supportive environment where all students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

The school's students present a mix of various needs, including ADHD, Autism, ensuring a comprehensive and tailored approach.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep comprehension of the diverse needs associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.
  • An ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of individual students, particularly those facing mental health challenges.
  • A patient and understanding approach, when facing challenging behaviour.
  • A proactive and open mindset, working in a multidisciplinary team.
