Dance and Health – Advancing Your Practice

At Dancing Opportunities, we are committed to empowering dance artists to excel in the field of dance and health. Our professional development programme, Dance and Health – Advancing Your Practice, is designed to equip artists with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality dance experiences that promote health and wellbeing.

Programme Overview

This 8-day in-person training programme, followed by 8 online sessions, is a unique opportunity for dance artists to refine their practice, develop their facilitation skills, and explore the intersection of dance and health. Led by experienced facilitators, the programme will cover key focus areas, including creative health, grief tending, arts advocacy, and financial literacy.

Who Should Apply

We welcome applications from dance artists with facilitation experience who work in community and/or health contexts. This includes dancers transitioning from a performance career to participatory dance work, dance movement therapists, somatic movement practitioners, and health practitioners with an established dance practice.

What to Expect

As a participant in this programme, you can expect to:
