Key Responsibilities

As our Housing Support Specialist, you will conduct an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each client, employing a strengths-based methodology within agreed timelines. You will evaluate needs and risks, remaining vigilant to any changes that may indicate increased risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding concerns.

You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective, solution-oriented accommodation strategies, advising and guiding clients towards successful outcomes by leveraging your expertise in housing and a thorough understanding of local service offerings. Additionally, you will be expected to foster and maintain relationships with social and private housing providers, as well as collaborate with agencies within the criminal justice sector, both voluntary and statutory. Monitoring client progress and documenting on digital platforms will also be essential components of your role.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Relevant housing qualifications or substantial experience in the field
  • Proven track record of working effectively within a high-performing team
  • Proficiency in digital technology and experience in providing documentation for external audits
  • In-depth knowledge of the challenges surrounding homelessness and the rehabilitation of offenders
  • Strong understanding of the value that staff with lived experience can bring
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and professional work ethic
