About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Trauma Caseworker to join our team at St Giles Trust. As a Trauma Caseworker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people who have experienced trauma.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and holistic assessments, advice, referral, and support services to young victims of violence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies to ensure seamless support for our clients.
- Deliver a practical support service, including social and housing support, benefits work, debt advice, and liaison with utilities.
- Work closely with clinicians and hospital staff to provide support for young people admitted to the Major Trauma Centre.
- Produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration.
Requirements
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group, and/or experience of working with 'high risk,' vulnerable children, young people, and/or families.
- Substantial experience of providing support, advice, and advocacy.
- Substantial experience of supporting CYP and assessing the needs of children and young people who are at risk of significant harm.
- An understanding of how trauma impacts on a young person and what that can look like.
- A relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one.
- A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
