As the Operations Financial Specialist, you will serve as the primary Financial Accountant for the Operations team at our Ledbury facility. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing operational performance and efficiency by providing precise and timely financial analysis of variances, overhead expenditures, and capital investments to the Operations teams. Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Financial Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Generating Operational Reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Overseeing Inventory Management from a financial perspective, ensuring robust inventory controls, and reviewing stocktake adjustments and reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the Continuous Improvement Lead to track project savings and validate outcomes
  • Reviewing Manufacturing Bills of Materials in partnership with Sales and Operations teams
  • Managing Fixed Assets, Capital Expenditures, and Maintenance expenses
  • Conducting Forecasting and Budgeting activities
  • Maintaining effective relationships with Commercial teams to assess the impact of commercial strategies on Operations
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in delivering accurate Budgets and Forecasts for Operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to deadlines
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with Month-End reviews, projects, and other financial requirements
  • Executing Month-End duties in accordance with the established timetable

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA (part-qualified candidates nearing completion of studies may be considered based on relevant experience)
  • Prior experience in a Financial Operations role within a Manufacturing setting
  • Strong grasp of Manufacturing and Costing processes, including Standard Costing
  • In-depth knowledge of product costing methodologies and Bill of Materials management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial variances, driving business enhancements through insights
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel (including financial modeling)
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a solid understanding of systems, processes, and workflows, complemented by business acumen
