About the Role

Arcadis is a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. As a Principal Ecologist, you will be part of a team of over 50 ecologists with extensive experience in ecological surveys, assessments, and advice on soil, land use, hydrology, and sustainable drainage issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of projects to meet time, budget, and quality targets.
  • Provide technical advice and direction on ecological aspects of client relationships.
  • Develop and implement ecological strategies and metrics for clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant environmental and ecological impact assessment legislation, policy, and guidance.
Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of ecological principles, biodiversity metrics, and relevant environmental and ecological impact assessment legislation.
  • Proven track record in writing and delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, and Ecological Impact Assessments.
  • Excellent commercial and project management skills for a range of project sizes.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
