Position Overview: The Director of Public Affairs for the UK and EU will be instrumental in defining Aon Corporation's public policy approach within the region. This leadership role encompasses critical responsibilities, including addressing significant policy challenges impacting our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Aon UK/EMEA's public policy strategy.
  • Drive the achievement of Aon UK's public policy objectives and initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of governmental policies and legislation to establish priorities, utilizing insights from lobbyists and consultants.
  • Identify and engage with relevant external stakeholders on policy matters, advocating for Aon UK's positions as necessary.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and updates for Executive and Senior Management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as regulatory, professional, and legal standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of public policy development and execution, fostering key relationships within government.
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services sector is preferred, along with corporate experience.
  • Proven track record of independently formulating and executing a public affairs strategy with a business-oriented perspective.
  • Experience collaborating with senior-level stakeholders, including regional Chief Executives or equivalent.
  • Exhibit strong influencing, negotiation, and networking capabilities, thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear, concise messages.
