We are excited to announce an opening for a Telecommunications Field Technician to become a key member of our Telecoms division.

Position Overview

In this field-based role, you will be tasked with the installation and upkeep of various telecommunications apparatus, including multiplexors and Layer 2/3 switches, as well as 48Vdc power systems.

This equipment is crucial for supporting our broader Operational Telecoms, corporate networks, protection systems, and communication systems that are essential for monitoring and managing the electricity network.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a City & Guilds (Level 2) or NVQ (Level 2) qualification in a relevant field (mandatory);
  • Understanding of Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multi-Point radio technologies;
  • Experience with DMR or PMR radio systems;
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and effective repair techniques, alongside experience in maintaining electronic devices while adhering to maintenance protocols;
  • Knowledge of both DC and AC power systems;
  • Familiarity with electricity distribution networks, including DNO / DSO;
  • Strong IT capabilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of laptops for programming tasks;
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating effective teamwork abilities.
