Prototype BIW Technician Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Prototype BIW Technician to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of working on Vehicle Tubs and experience in Composite Laminating and/or Vac Casting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture prototype parts using Additive Manufacturing, Vac Casting, and Composite Laminating.
  • Prepare composite tooling and support the development of new in-house manufacturing methods.
  • Perform metalwork and fabrication tasks, including rework of parts, machining, and body structure assembly.
  • Support with reworks and PWR 'Prototype work requests' as required.
Requirements:
  • Practical level qualification in manufacturing, engineering, mechanical, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Prototype BIW Technician with a good understanding of working on Tubs in an Automotive and/or Motorsport manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Mechanical/Fabrication skills and previous experience in Composite Laminating and/or Vac Casting.
  • Ability to perform fine detail work and detailed inspection, with experience in hand tools and computer literacy.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and skills in failure investigations and problem solving.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with 3D printing/additive manufacturing and exposure to storage, handling, and stock control of consumables.
  • CMM machine operation experience.
