About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Trade Mark Attorney to join our forward-thinking law firm, Wiggin. As a key member of our trade mark and design portfolio management and strategy practice, you will advise clients on the full spectrum of trade mark and design issues, including in an online context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on the registrability of trade marks in a cost-efficient manner
  • Helping clients build and implement effective brand management strategies, and auditing the same
  • Conducting and supervising trade mark availability searches, filing and prosecution, including dealing with objections and preparing evidence, e.g. of acquired distinctiveness, and registry disputes (both invalidity and revocation, including evidence-intensive proceedings)
  • Instructing and managing local counsel in other jurisdictions and coordinating trade mark prosecution and contentious matters via local counsel, particularly in the USA and China
  • Handling trade mark disputes, including contentious registry actions, cease and desist letters, and experience of IPEC or other trade mark court litigation
  • Advising on and handling domain name and company name complaints
  • Advising on assignment and recordal projects and implementing them efficiently
  • Utilizing in-depth knowledge of UK and WIPO registry practice and procedure, and relevant case law, to deliver the best and most efficient service to our clients
