About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our bank team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHSFT. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive, safe, and cost-effective clinical pharmaceutical service to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a clinical pharmacist service to nominated wards within Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHSFT, working across a range of specialties including Critical Care, Emergency Care, Medical and Surgical Wards.
  • Undertake medication histories and review medication to optimize patient care, as well as facilitate the processing of discharge prescriptions.
  • Advise on strategies to ensure cost-effective use of resources and provide pharmaceutical expertise to multidisciplinary working groups considering protocols, policies, and guidelines.
  • Produce protocols, policies, and guidelines on designated pharmaceutical practice relating to the directorate service, as required.
  • Deal with high-level pharmaceutical queries and provide advice to medical and nursing staff from the directorate areas, including senior medical staff.
  • Undertake audit annually and risk manage selected areas of practice to promote continuous quality improvement.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MPharm or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Effective working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Extensive experience in post-graduation qualification, preferably with a management qualification, MSc, or MRPharmS.
  • Post-registration hospital experience, preferably with evidence of working in secondary care pharmacy and delivering a clinical pharmacy service to a broad range of specialties.
