BDO UK is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Senior Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for leading the Employee Relations team and ensuring the successful delivery of all operational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Employee Relations team and manage a team of ER specialists at varying levels.
- Ensure timely and complex case management, policies, and governance of ER processes and procedures.
- Develop and implement ER policies and procedures to mitigate ER-related risks.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on ER issues to the ER team and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify trends and develop proactive approaches to ER issues.
- Ensure accurate data capture from the ER team in the case management system to satisfy internal and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Develop and deliver training and upskilling to ER/HR and business stakeholders on ER matters.
- Coach and develop the ER team to implement continuous improvement and ways of working.
Requirements:
- Significant Employee Relations experience within a similar role.
- Subject matter expert in employee relations with a strong technical knowledge of employment law and external best practice trends.
- Proven experience of independently building, developing, and upskilling a team.
- High emotional intelligence, a natural leader with a calm, patient, and balanced approach.
- Confidence and experience in creating and interpreting ER-related data, producing analysis, and presenting commercially based recommendations/solutions to leadership.
- Proven experience of introducing continuous process improvement and new ways of working.
- Experience of being fully accountable for the decision-making in complex ER case management (including Employment tribunals and TUPE) of a team.
- Gravitas to influence senior stakeholders, together with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Project management experience.
