Pharmacy Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and registered Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and management of the Automated Medicines Cabinets (Omnicells) across the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

• To support the strategic leadership and vision regarding the development of the Automated Cabinet Programme throughout the Trust.
• To operationally manage the Omnicells across the Trust in liaison with the Pharmacy Procurement team.
• Rotational post where the post holder will work in various areas of the Pharmacy including Ward based Medicines Management, Warfarin clinic and Dispensary.
• Participate in the full ward based medicines management service.
• Hosts warfarin 'Point of Care' Testing and dosing clinics on a rotational basis.
• Responsible for the final checking of dispensed products.
• Support and deputise for the Lead Pharmacy Technicians.
• Supervise, mentor and train a range of junior staff.

Person Specification

• BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Accredited checking qualification.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Significant dispensing experience.
• Medicines Management duties, one stop dispensing, drug history taking and patient counselling.
• Managing medicines against formulary and cost saving initiatives.
• Relevant SOPs. Pharmacy calculations.
