Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Geo-environmental Consultant or Engineering Geologist at either Consultant or Senior Consultant level to enhance our operations in the Manchester area. This role presents a remarkable opportunity for a driven professional to contribute to Tetra Tech's esteemed national geo-environmental and mining division, which comprises a dedicated team of 100 experts.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive desk-based evaluations of site geology, hydrogeology, historical data, and risk assessments to develop a conceptual site model and related ground model.
- Designing ground investigations, interpreting data, and preparing detailed reports.
- Managing ground investigations and overseeing site activities.
- Producing interpretative reports, strategies, and technical specifications.
- Providing input during the construction phase, including supervision and assessment of earthworks data.
- Assisting with project management on multidisciplinary projects, including collaboration with various disciplines within Tetra Tech, client communication, meeting participation, contractor procurement, and project financial oversight.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology or engineering geology.
- Practical experience in managing and supervising ground investigations and laboratory scheduling.
- Experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental data analysis and report drafting.
- Familiarity with geotechnical and geo-environmental field investigation methodologies.
- Some background in drafting earthworks specifications and supervising earthworks, as well as mining assessments and investigations, is advantageous.
- A willingness to travel occasionally for ground investigation or remediation supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in IT to produce clear, concise, and technically sound reports.
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental management related to ground investigations and applicable CDM regulations.
- A valid driving license, preferably clean.
- A CSCS card relevant to the position.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
