JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team.

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will play a crucial role in enhancing supplier performance within the defense sector. This position demands a strong background in supplier development and quality assurance, focusing on continuous improvement within the supply chain.

MAIN JOB DUTIES

  • Possess a strong understanding of supplier development methodologies and their application.
  • Interpret and analyze Mechanical and Electrical engineering schematics.
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluate Key Performance Indicators through objective assessments of supply chain efficacy and product quality.
  • Review and enhance supplier manufacturing processes, collaborating on improvement and value-adding initiatives.
  • Assist in the supplier approval process by evaluating manufacturing capabilities and assessing Health, Safety, and Environmental risks.
  • Facilitate and mentor the supplier network in Material Review Boards, Root Cause Corrective Action, Non-Conformance Management, and design and development phases.
  • Collaborate with internal Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing teams to establish effective process parameters that align with design specifications.
  • Support the Product Introduction Management process to ensure compliance with required standards across the supplier chain.
  • Utilize knowledge of Quality Assurance Tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, First Article Inspection Reports, and Part Submission Warrants to coach and develop stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and Defence AQAP standards.
  • Apply measurement techniques, including Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment.

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in supplier development techniques.
  • Proven track record in supply chain management within the Defense or Automotive sectors.

DESIRABLE

  • HND/HNC in manufacturing/engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A strong team player capable of identifying issues, taking initiative, and delivering tangible benefits to products, processes, and services.
  • Ability to comprehend challenges and implement action plans effectively, utilizing strong communication skills.
