Job Title: Fleet EngineerJob Summary:

The Fleet Engineer will provide support to units in the area, ensuring relationships between suppliers and units are maintained at a professional standard. The role involves auditing internal vehicles and external suppliers to ensure Dnata is receiving the best service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist units with keeping planners and paperwork up to date and legal
  2. Ensure Vehicle Operating Record (VOR) is kept to a minimum
  3. Organize key stakeholder meetings and chair meetings
  4. Audit paperwork on units
  5. Audit out inspections of HGV vehicles
  6. Plan and supervise daily activities for 3rd party suppliers
  7. Ensure daily requirements of vehicles to serve customers
  8. Assist in engineering queries where required
  9. Attend all sites periodically to ensure safe activities are being carried out
  10. Ensure MOT and vehicle performance is maximized
  11. Chair regular unit reviews
  12. Query maintenance costs and delays
  13. Spot check vehicles and audit driver first use checks
  14. Subject matter expert for any engineering queries/issues
  15. Work with repair agencies to improve service and reduce vehicle downtime
  16. Assist in implementing changes to ensure standardization across all units
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with LGV/HGV/PSV vehicles in a workshop environment
  • Experience leading a team, preferably in a workshop environment
  • Confident with computer skills
  • Possess a clean driving license
  • Extensive knowledge of the HGV sector
  • Extensive knowledge of the DVSA/O license legal obligations
  • Confident taking responsibility for leading and motivating teams, delegating management responsibility appropriately while ensuring accountability for decision-making
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience or knowledge of working in aviation
  • IRTEC qualification
  • IOSH/NEBOSH trained
