Cranleigh STEM is seeking a highly skilled R&D Scientist to join its team

About the Role

We are a growing diagnostics business offering both production and R&D services from our facility. As an R&D Scientist, you will support the applications team in the development of our ELISA product range.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct experiments to drive the development of our ELISA product range
• Take ownership of projects with minimal guidance and ensure they are delivered in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Apply the development process to non-ELISA projects as business needs dictate
• Process and analyze results and data to inform project decisions
• Present data to internal and external audiences, including stakeholders and customers
• Collaborate with individuals within and outside the business to deliver projects on time and to a high standard
• Suggest ways to improve assay performance and implement changes as necessary
• Conduct performance reviews of technicians and provide training and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles
• Effectively manage multiple projects to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results
• Minimum BSc in a relevant scientific discipline
• Several years of industrial experience within an R&D function
• Experience in supporting and training junior members of staff
• Experience in running and reporting on projects
• Experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing experiments
• Comfortable presenting data to a wide audience and communicating complex scientific information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong protocol in report writing, data analysis, and statistical skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other relevant software
