ESG Compliance Specialist

{"Role Overview": "We are seeking a dedicated ESG and Compliance Manager to join our client\u2019s dynamic team. This role is crucial for developing and delivering their retailer-facing ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with retailer ESG targets, and maintaining compliance with ethical standards in the UK.
Responsibilities:
\u2022 Represent the business on trade bodies such as Fresh Produce Consortium & FNET
\u2022 Attend retailer conferences and meetings to ensure alignment of ESG strategies
\u2022 Ensure compliance with ethical audits, human rights, and environmental due diligence across supply chains
\u2022 Keep retailer grower lists updated and relevant ESG data monitored and reported
\u2022 Focus on and report retailer projects on social and environmental issues
\u2022 Set up and discuss retailer-specific reporting for GHG, Living Wage, Fairtrade, and Rainforest premium use
\u2022 Manage annual labour supplier audits for compliance with labour provider standards
\u2022 Present up-to-date ESG data and reports to retailers, including farm and supplier practices
\u2022 Continuously improve ESG strategies and lead on best-in-class ESG practices
\u2022 Maintain up-to-date ESG & Certification policies & procedures
Requirements:
\u2022 Experience with M2030
\u2022 Understanding of packaging waste regulations (plastics and paper)
\u2022 Working knowledge of SMETA, Fairtrade, Rainforest certifications (LEAF certification is an advantage)
\u2022 Experience in climate target reporting (carbon and GHG emissions)
\u2022 Ability to work independently within a retailer-facing team
Qualifications:
\u2022 Preferably educated to degree level
\u2022 Previous experience in an ESG role, preferably at a managerial level
\u2022 Previous experience within an FMCG organisation; experience in fresh produce or retailer organisation is advantageous
\u2022 Excellent presentation skills, particularly with PowerPoint
\u2022 Excellent data analytical and project management skills
\u2022 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
\u2022 Spanish skills are advantageous
