About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Trainer to join our team at Morgan Jones Limited. As a key member of our educational environment, you will play a vital role in supporting learners to achieve their best and developing long-term relationships with employers to increase placement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess learners in the employer setting to ensure they are supported to achieve their qualifications.
  • Conduct competency and knowledge assessments of learners undertaking childcare and teaching assistant qualifications, and review their progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Undertake administrative tasks associated with the role, including coordinating tests and examinations, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to wider departmental duties, including standardisation, curriculum development, and the growth and development of apprenticeships.
  • Carry out learner assessments and observations in workplace settings using an electronic portfolio.
  • Be accountable for teaching and learning within the qualifications, marking learner work, and providing developmental and constructive feedback.
  • Set SMART individual targets to nurture learners' potential, track and record their progress, and provide regular updates to the Team Leader.
  • Take proactive measures to ensure learners achieve their qualifications within the allotted time.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider team, contributing positively to recruitment, standardisation, and ongoing improvement in quality and performance.
  • Engage with employers to maximise opportunities and participate in the provision of First Aid assistance if required.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Nursery Officer role.
  • Current valid driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Experience in assessing students in a childcare setting.
  • Awarded Assessor level, or willing to work towards it.
  • Qualified to level 3 or above, licenced to practice status.
  • First Aid At Work accreditation, or willing to train.
  • Organised and able to manage time/workloads efficiently.
  • Good IT skills, especially around the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a customer-facing and customer-focused role.
  • Flexibility and teamwork.
  • Good use of IT skills/Google Classroom.
  • Good understanding of the assessment process.
  • Pleasant and helpful approach at all times.
  • Work professionally and confidentially with a high degree of integrity and flexibility.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people receiving education and training.
  • Able to work with and respect personal or sensitive information and treat this data in confidence and accordance with the RNN Group Data Protection Policy.
  • Committed to a policy of equality relevant to all students, staff, clients, and members of the public, regardless of race, creed, colour, ethnic origin, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, and disability.
  • Willing to undertake any training connected with the post.
  • Willing to undertake statutory training in connection with Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, and Prevent.
  • Good sickness/attendance record in current/previous employment, college, or school as appropriate, (not including absences resulting from disability).
