About the RoleAs a Healthcare Scientist, you will be responsible for working in a multidisciplinary team to provide laboratory services, including clinical biochemistry, haematology, and transfusion. You will be expected to work independently, with minimal supervision, and be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate complex clinical scientific service-related test information to managers, consultants, nurses, and other healthcare colleagues.
- Interpret results and reassure users that the information is correct when results do not agree with clinical presentation.
- Manage own work and day-to-day routine work in specialized services, maintaining routine turnaround times in line with Trust and Service policies.
- Maintain complex specialist analytical equipment on a daily basis and sign off as fit for clinical use.
- Manage and maintain specialized databases in laboratory computer systems and patient storage databases on a daily basis.
- BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
- State registration with Health Professions Council (HPC).
- Competent in Blood Sciences services (Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, and Transfusion) to the level required for Band 5 staff.
