Lead CNC Machinist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team in South Oxfordshire. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CNC machining department, providing guidance and leadership to a team of machinists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the efficient operation of the CNC machining department, ensuring high-quality output and meeting production targets.
  • CNC Programming & Setup: Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines using CAD/CAM software, and set up machines for efficient production runs.
  • Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure all machined parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards, conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting any machining issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency, collaborating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Training & Development: Mentor and train junior machinists, sharing best practices and helping to develop their technical skills.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC machining, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar), machine setup, and operation, with a strong understanding of CAD/CAM software.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
