Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Lead and mentor the EHS team, aligning their goals with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Design and deliver engaging training programs for management personnel, empowering them to effectively meet compliance requirements.
- Serve as the competent appointed person in complex areas of EHS compliance, providing expert guidance and support.
- Generate comprehensive reports on site metrics, environmental performance, and audit findings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Spearhead the EHS audit program, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources to implement well-being initiatives that promote a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Possess qualifications in key risk areas relevant to environmental, health, and safety management.
- Hold a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in the implementation of EHS and EMS systems within a similar industry setting.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of applicable health and safety laws and regulations.
- Possess risk assessment and fire safety training certifications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear and concise information dissemination.
- Proficiency in utilizing relevant IT systems and software applications to manage EHS data and processes effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks governing environmental, health, and safety practices.
- Experience working within GMP lab practices, ensuring adherence to strict quality control standards.
- Understanding of various regulations such as COSHH and REACH, demonstrating a commitment to compliance.
