About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join TDM Recruitment as a Civil Design Engineer, where you will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of high-quality housing projects across the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all civil engineering elements of residential projects, from initial site assessment through to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, and utilities, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct technical reviews, provide engineering solutions, and address any site-specific challenges that arise during the construction process.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and contribute to the preparation of planning applications and other statutory submissions.
  • Conduct regular site visits across the West Midlands to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and resolution of any engineering issues.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their professional development within the company.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in residential development and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, including drainage, roads, and utilities.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering complex civil engineering projects, ideally within the residential sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software and design tools, as well as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations related to civil engineering works.
  • Ability to travel to various sites across the West Midlands as required.
