Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at Pyramid8. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating transportation routes and drivers to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
- Coordinate with drivers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of goods
- Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to meet business objectives
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of transportation operations
Requirements:
- At least three years' experience in transportation planning and route optimization
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws and regulations, including drivers' hours and records
- Experience with transportation management systems, such as Vigo, TachoMaster, and FleetCheck
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Membership in a professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
- Experience with fleet operating recognition schemes, such as FORS
- CPC Transport Manager certification
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license
- Forklift truck license
