Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a prominent Facilities Management organization that is witnessing substantial growth. The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering a proactive culture regarding behavioral safety across various sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and audits in accordance with a predetermined schedule across all operational regions, and take appropriate action based on findings.
- Investigate incidents, hazardous occurrences, health concerns, and near misses, while identifying areas for enhancement.
- Compile and present both leading and lagging indicator statistics that are crucial for the advancement of the safety strategy.
- Provide guidance and support to both site and office personnel on all matters related to the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy Systems and procedures.
- Design, plan, and deliver training programs to employees that meet recognized standards.
- Evaluate the competence of subcontractors.
- Contribute to the formulation of operational procedures and other components of the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Energy Management Systems.
- Perform risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and develop method statements while ensuring adherence to health and safety and legal requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System.
- Coordinate internal annual audits concerning site health and safety, catering, contractors, security, and the Integrated Management System.
Candidate Profile:
- Possession of a relevant Health and Safety Certificate, such as IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a health and safety, environmental, or energy-related role within the Facilities Management or Building Services sector.
- Proficient in delivering presentations and training sessions.
- Familiarity with health and safety, environmental, and energy management systems.
- Experience in auditing and compliance.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of internal and external interactions.
Requirements:
- A flexible approach to accommodate business and customer needs.
- Willingness to travel to various sites within a designated geographical area, with the flexibility to travel across the UK and ROI.
- Occasional overnight stays may be required.
- A valid UK driving license is essential.
