Process Improvement Lead

This role is ideal for an experienced Continuous Improvement, Process Improvement or Senior Process Engineer who wants to manage a small team in a progressive engineering environment. The company serves a global clientele of blue-chip corporations across the military, aerospace, and telecommunications sectors, focusing on stringent quality and performance standards.

The Role:
  • Maintain Excellent Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of shop floor processes and products.
  • Trials and Commissioning: Undertake trials, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and/or processes as advised by the Technical Manager.
  • Process Documentation: Participate in the writing and updating of process procedures to ensure that procedures are current and that all process instructions are fully documented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities and collaborate with all departments to maintain and improve quality and efficiency as required.
  • Process Efficiency: Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve process efficiency in your area of responsibility.
  • Liaison with Technical Manager: Liaise with the Technical Manager daily and advise of any potential issues that could affect performance and/or KPIs.
  • Statistical Reporting: Submit statistical reports, as required, detailing departmental performance.
  • Departmental and Individual Reviews: As Senior Process Engineer and as part of your management responsibilities, you will be responsible for departmental and individual reviews and disciplinary procedures.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Continuous Improvement, Lean, Process Engineering role.
  • Team Management Experience: Ideally, you will offer experience of managing a team (or have the drive and abilities to do so).
  • Investigative Ability: Demonstrative investigative ability to identify and conclude specific areas of concern, identifying root cause and offering potential solutions.
  • LEAN Manufacturing Knowledge: Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, 5S, statistical process control, 8D methodology.
  • Auditing Experience: Experience in auditing manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Financial Awareness: Demonstrative understanding of the financial implications of product and process changes.
