Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Department Practitioner to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our theatre team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our theatres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to patients undergoing surgery, including anaesthesia and recovery
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in the evaluation and improvement of theatre practice and patient safety initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols
  • Supervise and support junior staff members
Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in Operating Department Practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
