This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team at Next, a leading retail company, as a Stock Finance Accountant.
As a Stock Finance Accountant, you will report directly to the Stock Finance Manager and work closely with other senior analysts and accountants. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing and reconciling freight costs for all products coming into the business and to third parties.
- Billings for third-party freight and costing estimates in the product contract system and financial system.
- Working with the imports team on freight costings queries and maintaining the slippage forecast on a monthly basis.
- Reporting and analysing on all slippage lines and working through variance vs Forecast and vs last year.
- Posting and analysing all slippage cost accounts by income stream; UK, Branded & International.
Additionally, you will be responsible for pulling together the slippage cost budget together by account and pulling together the season's slippage costs and analysis product group profitability to feed back to the product teams.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a stock background or experience of working in retail finance and ideally be qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA. You will possess strong analytical skills, including using Excel and other systems to examine data. SQL knowledge is preferred but not essential.
You will be a strong communicator with a willingness to engage with stakeholders around the business, and enjoy the challenge of investigating and resolving discrepancies.
