Ornithological Expert

Avian Ecology Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Ornithologist to lead our team of professionals in delivering exceptional services to clients across the UK.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual with a strong knowledge of UK bird species, ecology, and distribution. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in advising clients on the ornithology requirements of their projects, as well as a strong understanding of relevant and emerging UK-wide environmental and ecological policy and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on projects and support the existing team
• Work closely with clients to provide clear advice and robust documentation
• Liaise with planning authorities, statutory agencies, and stakeholders
• Co-ordinate the team of ecologists and oversee sub-consultants

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of UK bird species, ecology, and distribution
• Demonstrable experience in advising clients on ornithology requirements
• Strong understanding of UK-wide environmental and ecological policy and legislation
• Experience in field ornithology, survey techniques, and technical review
