Key Responsibilities

As a member of the mainstream school team, you will manage your own caseload within designated schools, providing assessment, therapy, guidance, and training as necessary. Building strong collaborative relationships with educational staff is crucial, and you will also work closely with our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SALTA) who delivers therapy to specific children.

Job Responsibilities

- Assess and manage a caseload of children experiencing speech, language, and communication challenges in mainstream educational settings.

- Provide expert advice to professionals and parents to support the needs of children with communication difficulties.

- Collaborate with various agencies, including schools and social services.

- Offer clinical support and guidance to fellow therapists.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy/MRCSLT.
  • Registration with HCPC.

Desirable:

  • Membership in RCSLT.

Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in managing a clinical caseload independently.
  • Collaboration with parents, educators, and support staff.
  • Experience in a relevant specialist area and developing tailored care packages.
  • Inter-agency planning and consultation experience.
  • Familiarity with various caseload management systems.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group.
  • In-depth understanding of therapeutic interventions suitable for the client group.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical and reflective skills.
