Vacancy - Project Engineer

KAP Technical Limited, a market leader in Food Processing Equipment manufacture for the convenience/ready meals food sector, is seeking an outstanding candidate to join their existing projects team.

The successful candidate will have a sound engineering knowledge, and a track record of successful project delivery, ideally within the food Industry, or an engineering environment.

This is an office-based role with visits to customer sites being part of the role. Overnight UK trips, and overseas travel may also be a requirement of this position. In some cases, the Project engineer may be required to oversee the installation on site and manage subcontractors, in the UK or abroad.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Take ownership of contracts from receipt of order through to successful install and handover.
  2. Develop and agree the Project Scope with the customer and sales team.
  3. Manage project schedules, produce project documentation, and specify and source bought out components and equipment.
  4. Organise delivery and installation of the equipment, and manage project change.
  5. Conduct customer acceptance testing, packing and shipping, and site acceptance testing.
  6. Provide training and documentation handover.
  7. Remain commercially aware throughout the life of the project, ensuring that invoices are issued on time.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in a similar role in a process engineering environment, ideally in the Food Processing Industry.
  2. Proven history of running successful engineering projects.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all parts of the business internally.
  4. An enthusiastic approach with a 'can do' attitude.
  5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and MS Project.
  6. Proficient in the use of Autocad LT.
  7. A knowledge of Steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and pipework, along with a basic understanding of electrical control systems would be highly beneficial.
  8. UK Driving Licence required.
